Camp carnival at the Sports Center

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

On Sunday we had our first camp carnival which is an activity that the juniors and pioneer campers participate in. It is an individual event, where campers earn points by completing different activities at different stations.

Usually the carnival is by the pool but as the weather was cooler on Sunday we decided to organise this inside the sports center and Camp Café. Here is a video of the sports center and the campers enjoying themselves.

The beginning of La Moubra

Friday, September 5th, 2008

The construction of the Moubra building was started in 1926. It was originally built as a private clinic for the treatment and recovery of tuberculosis.

It was one of the first buildings to be built with reinforced concrete in the 1920’s.

The pictures below are of when it opened in the 1930’s.

Since its opening in the 1930’s the Moubra building has been under continuous change and is an ongoing process even today. Please see our photo gallery to see more pictures.

New Infirmary and Lounge

Thursday, July 10th, 2008

The camp has a new infirmary and a camper’s lounge.

On the entrance level, where the ping pong room used to be, there is now a large living room with comfortable leather couches where campers can go to relax, read, listen music, etc.

The wooden floor, the large paintings on the walls and the nice light system on the ceiling make the room look like a very trendy lounge.

Next door is located the new infirmary. There are two separate rooms for campers, both equipped with flat screen TV’s and VCR.

A large shower and a separate toilet are available.

The nursery itself is well equipped with lots of space to store and distribute the medicine.

You can view more photos of the new infirmary and lounge at the blog’s Photo Gallery.
