Seniors, there has been a murder!

Welcome to the latest blog from International Summer Camp Montana and we hope that you are well, wherever you might be reading from in the World! The sun is still shining in Crans-Montana and we have been experiencing some fantastic weather this week. Therefore we are still greeted by that wonderfully clear view of the Alps every day!

During this past summer, the Senior section had a big surprise every session and the chance to experience a new evening activity – the Moubra Murder Mystery game.

Just before their dinner, the senior section were surprised with the line “Seniors, there has been a murder!”. This line was delivered by our resident detective Stewie Sterling (played by Head Counselor Scott Stewart) and a murder scenario was explained to them.

After dinner, campers were split up into mixed groups and sent to a number of different ‘interview rooms’ to question suspects. They also had a chance to peruse the crime scene and got all the juicy details of possible motives from our ‘gossip king & queen’. With the help from a counselor, to supervise and facilitate discussion, it was then time for our new detectives to draw their conclusions and name their prime suspect.

The final station for all groups was a meeting in the ‘court room’, where the suspects were lined up in front of the audience and Stewie Sterling was able to rule out suspects, before finally naming the
culprit. You could have cut the atmosphere with a knife!

The end result was that this new addition to the program was a great success! This was definitely an evening that was enjoyed by our Senior campers and it must be said as well, by the staff too!
