Meet The Administration

Welcome to the first blog article of April and I am pleased to give you advanced noticed of another competition!  At the end of this month there  will be a competition where you will have an opportunity to win a SWATCH watch!  There will be 6 questions for you to answer – some easy and some not so easy – so keep your eyes peeled for details!

In previous blog articles we mentioned that there are a small number of people who work at camp all year round.  This week we are going to talk about  the Administration team, who are very much part of the permanent staff at camp.  You may not already know, but planning a summer season at ISCM takes a lots of brain power and effort!  As soon as the last camper of 3rd session 2010 left La Moubra, the administration team had already started planning for summer 2011.

The ‘year-round’ administration team is made up of two charming ladies.  Firstly, there is Jodie Pralong, a native of New Zealand now living with her husband in the Valais.   She has worked at camp now for almost 10 years.  Secondly, let us introduce Bruna Oliveira, originally from Portugal but also now a full-time resident (along with her husband) of the Valais.  Bruna has also worked at ISCM for quite a long time – almost 7 years!

If you have ever made a phone call to, written an email to or even paid a visit to International Summer Camp Montana then you will probably have been in contact with either Jodie or Bruna!  Both ladies are kept very busy during the ‘off-season’ with such things as processing camp applications, speaking with parents, arranging working visas for staff members and taking general enquiries about the camp.  Jodie and Bruna were even in New York City in late 2010 to help the Camp Directors with some promotional activity; they really are multi-talented!

During the summer season, there are additional members of the administration team that help in the reception and with the other tasks that ensures camp can run smoothly on a daily basis.  One of their biggest challenges comes during the arrival day, where the administration is responsible for meeting all the campers who arrive with their parents and helping with their check-in procedure.

The administration team are definitely some of the hardest working people at camp and also some of the most knowledgable!  Therefore, if you have questions don’t hesitate to contact the team at info@campmontana.ch !
