A very warm welcome to all blog readers and I hope that you all have had a good week. As we are now firmly into Spring in Crans-Montana our extensive preparation for the coming summer season are well underway! This week, we are going to touch on a something that everyone who comes to ISCM looks forward to; food!
In order to be prepared and ready to participate in a full day of fun activities, it is important to eat correctly and healthily. At International Summer Camp Montana, having a balanced of healthy, nutritional and tasty food is very important for both our campers and our staff; you won’t get far on an empty stomach!

At breakfast, there is a continental buffet with fresh fruits fruits, bread, cheeses meat and a variety of cereals. There is also tea and coffee available, as well as milk, water and orange juice depending on your drink of choice in the morning. At lunch there are two courses served; a main meal and a dessert. However at dinner, there are three courses, with a starter in addition to the main meal and dessert. In addition to this, there is a fully stocked salad bar in which there is great variety to be found every day.
At certain times there are special dinners or treats for campers! Three times per session, room inspection prizes are awarded and this usually comes in the form of a meat fondue, french fries and bottles of Coca-Cola at the dinner table. It is fair to say that this is much appreciated! Moreover, on the second and third Sunday of camp there is an vast brunch menu served to all campers and staff. The marvelous buffet has an wide selection on foods that are worth savouring and is a great treat at the end of a busy week of activity!

In addition to the Sunday brunch buffet, the Senior Section have two extra special dinners on the second and third Tuesday of each session. The ‘Buffet Dinner’ and ‘Dinner de Gala’ are occasions where the Seniors have both the opportunity to enjoy some very special food as well as dressing up in their best clothes for the disco which follows the meal! There is never a need to rush through the meal; there is plenty of time to eat and also plenty of food! And, perhaps the highlight for everyone involved, is the selection of desserts on offer – everyone is sure to have a favourite!

When mentioning the food that is offered each and every day to campers, it is worth considering that all the food is prepared fresh in the kitchen and is not brought in pre-prepared. And what’s more, all the bread that is eaten at camp is baked in the in camp’s own bakery daily, as well as desserts and ice-cream made from scratch! We really are very lucky to be so well looked after!
