A day at International Summer Camp Montana

Welcome to the first blog of February; we hope that you have enjoyed reading the articles so far this year.  We would welcome your feedback on the blog and you can do this either by contacting us or simply by clicking ‘comment’ at the bottom of the article.

This week we are going to take a look at what a ‘typical’ day spent in International Summer Camp Montana may look like.  It should be noted that there are no two days the same at camp, because each one is so unique, filled with fun activities and exciting opportunities to do something different!

Life at camp begins early in the morning, because there is a lot to do before the activities start!  After a gentle wake-up from your group counsellor don’t forget to drop off any laundry you might have.  Then make the short walk to the dining hall for a big breakfast to give you plenty of energy for the day ahead.  Activities start for all Juniors, Pioneers and Champions at 0900 and if you are a Senior 1000; however, don’t forget to tidy up before ‘Room Inspection’ or you’ll miss out on the prizes at the end of the week!

Once activities have begun your program for the day may let you scale the heights of the climbing wall, explore the depths of the swimming pool or learn a trick or two from the magic specialist.  Each group follows the set program during the morning with their group.  But remember to go to your language class at the right time if you have been enrolled by your parents!  All that hard work will certainly help build up an appetite for a great lunch.  However after a good meal, you’ve deserved a little siesta before the action starts again in the afternoon.

Activities follow a similar pattern in the afternoon; follow the program for some more exciting activities and new experiences with your group!  Then from 1700 – 1800 there is a chance to participate in ‘Open Activities’.  This means you can chose your favourite for the day from all the possible ‘Open Activities’ on the program.  Why not try something different?!  A fencing duel perhaps?  A game of tennis maybe?  A rendezvous with your group and the drama specialist to practice for ‘Stunt Night’ even?  It’s your choice!

Please don’t forget to leave enough time to freshen up before dinner and the start of your evening activity.  You might be going on a ‘Counsellor Hunt’ with the Juniors, playing ‘Massive Bingo’ with the Pioneers, presenting your ticket for ‘Movie Night’ with the Champions or even dancing away at the ‘Senior Disco’!  Remember to ask your counsellor what is in store each evening!

There’s just about enough time to clean your teeth and get changed for bed.  After all, it’s quite tiring having so much fun and you have to get ready to do it all again tomorrow.  Sleep well!
