P is for……….Phones

Camp's A - Z

The simple, yet amazing invention that is the phone.  You can be sitting in Anchorage, Alaska and just by pressing a few numbers be speaking to Jodie or Bruna in Crans-Montana a few seconds later!

We understand and appreciate that many children now carry mobile phones so that they can keep in touch with friends, and so parents can contact them if required.  However at ISCM we do have rules that apply to mobile phones and these have already been sent to parents and campers in the ‘camp kit’.

The important things to remember are that camp routines are different from life at home, so phones should only be used at certain times of the day.  In fact, ideally we would encourage campers NOT to bring phones!  But if you do want to bring a phone, it can be locked securely in a safe in the camper’s bedroom for most of the day.

It is also worth remembering that parents can arrange a time to call their during specific times during the day.  At ISCM we have both telephone cards for use available to purchase at the reception, as well as private phone booths that calls can be routed to if a family member calls for a camper.
