Fact # 7 – Competition time!
Published Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011, 10:07 am by Scott Stewart under 50 Facts
As mentioned earlier in this week’s blog, there is a competition and a chance to win a fantastic SWATCH watch. Just tell us the answer to the ‘Fascinating Fact’ below, before 7th March by clicking here or sending an email to info@campmontana.ch with your answer, your name and ‘Blog Competition February’ in the subject line.
This week’s fact follows our International theme of this week’s blog. There have been many different children from an incredible amount of countries who have spent time at ISCM. However, do you know in what year camp welcomed its first Russian camper? In addition to this, do you know the year that the first Chinese camper was welcomed at camp?
CLUE – These campers were born in their native Country, held passports from these countries and came from the mainland of both countires! Also, the first campers from Russian and China came in different years!
We will reveal the answer to this week’s ‘Fascinating Fact’ as well as the competition winner in next week’s blog!
Answer to last week’s Fact – What year did every section at camp have a Head Counsellor of its own? Also, could you name all the Senior Head Counsellors?
A.
As we mentioned last week, each section of camp did not always have its own Head Counsellor. It was 1974 when the Juniors, Pioneers and Seniors actually had their own Head Counsellor. Prior to this, there were Program Managers who were responsible for designing and maintaining a program for campers during the summer.
There have only been 4 Senior Head Counsellors since 1974. Were you able to name them all? They are;
Roberto Grisotti 1974 – 1997
Danny Herberich 1998 – 2008
Rachelle Woods 2009
Scott Stewart 2010 – present
