Last week’s fact - When was the first year that the Senior section went to the Plaine Morte glacier for their one day hike?
A.
As we mentioned in the last blog, it is only relatively recently that our Senior section have their one day hike to the Plaine Morte glacier. In fact, the very first summer that they had this opportunity was in 2004! It was quite a change for the campers and counselors, who had normally went on one of two different hikes. Of course, there was the hike to Lens and Chermingon, which is still done by the Pioneers and Champions today. However, there was also a great alternate hike, going up the mountain rather than down, to a great vantage point near Cry d’Err, with spectacular views of the Valais and Crans-Montana.
Q.
At International Summer Camp Montana we have lots of different sports and activities for our campers to try. Many of the activities have consistently been a part of the program for the last 50 years. However, there are some activities that we used to have on the program, but are no longer choices at camp. Do you know what these activities are? We will reveal the answer to this ‘Fascinating Fact’ in the next blog! As always, if you have any questions, queries or comments regarding this blog or anything to do with International Summer Camp Montana, please do not hesitate to contact us.
