Fact # 29

 – When was the first year that the Senior section went to the Plaine Morte glacier for their one day hike?

50 Facts - Summer Camp MontanaLast week’s fact -  Which is the only remaining (interior) piece of the original La Moubra building?

A.

The Moubra building has been standing proudly in the same position since 1927 and much of the exterior has remained the same during this time.  However, what you probably didn’t know is that the cork floor that is on the 1st floor of the building is the only remaining ‘original’ interior feature.  This floor would have primarily been installed to help with noise reduction when hospital beds, wheelchairs and footsteps would have been common in the building.  Don’t forget, La Moubra was once a clinic many years ago!

Q.

As you may have already read, the Senior section of campers have the excitement of taking a trip to the Plaine Morte glacier once during a session. However, it’s relatively recently that the first groups of Seniors took part in this excursion.  Do you know what year that this became part of the Senior program?
